Does God Want Me To Be Rich?

Does God want me to be rich? I’m willing to bet there are a lot of people out there who have asked themselves that very question. I know I have at different times in my life. There was one question that I did not ask myself. That question is, “God, what do You want me to be?” That’s what I should have been asking myself all along. We live and we learn. I have become wiser because I have asked for wisdom instead of money and wealth.

That wisdom is what’s allowing me to accumulate money and wealth for the divine and noble purpose of giving it away as I accumulate it. I will help those who need help, give comfort to those who need comfort, pray for those who need prayer.

So let’s get back to the issue at hand. Does God want you to be rich? Seriously, ask yourself that question and immediately try to answer it without thinking about it. What answer did you come up with? Like the old saying goes; your first answer is usually the correct answer. Do you believe in your heart that God has a plan for you that may include wealth and abundance? That was a trick question because wealth and abundance does not necessarily mean monetary riches. Now ask the question a different way. Do you believe in your heart that God has a plan for you that may include monetary riches?

I have become wiser because I have asked for wisdom instead of money and wealth.

Does it bring God pleasure to see you prospering? I believe it does. Here’s the caveat; “Is your version of prospering the same as what God may have planned for you?” Are you and God on the same wavelength? If not, you may want to start by asking God for wisdom and guidance. How can you tell if you and God are on the same wavelength? That’s a very good question. How do you know when you have a headache? How do you know when you have a toothache? The answer is…you FEEL it. That’s how you will know if you and God are on the same wavelength – you will feel it.

I do not think God is glorified and magnified if you are always broke, worried and fearful about your finances. How can that possibly bring joy to the eyes of God? Would God allow you to dream big dreams and not give you the adequate resources to make those dreams come true? Would you watch your kid dream big dreams and have them stay awake crying at night and not help them push towards their dreams? I think God feels the same way about you. I feel that it is God’s divine plan for you to prosper. But let’s drill down on that word “prosper.”

Here is what I think prosperity is (your list may differ slightly)

· Nothing missing from your life

· Nothing broken in your life

· Clear mental state

· Clear emotional state

· Great physical health

· Spiritual growth and enlightenment

· Daily provisions taken care of

Again, your list may differ slightly or a great deal. I have come to the realization that prospering is not just about money. Most who have taken that route have ended up sad, depressed, and left feeling empty. I know, because I was one of those people. After all, I did not become a stockbroker and professional stock trader to make friends. I was looking for that pot-o-gold at the end of that investment rainbow. I believed in it so much that I became homeless living in my car just to pursue it; and believe me when I tell you, it was well worth the wait. Yes indeed!!!
